Guido and Elizabeth Binda, from the very beginning, chose to focus on
creative programs in areas throughout southwest Michigan where Guido's
architectural firm had designed schools. This support took the form of
scholarships given to students at these schools, a program which the
Foundation continues today.
With a strong education policy, the Foundation also supports arts and culture
initiatives in central Michigan such as the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra and
the Irving Gilmore Keyboard Festival.
Over the years, the Foundation has approved grants in the areas of Health and
Human service programs, and has recently expanded their outreach to include
Environmental Education issues.
